Standard type dial indicator

This dial gauge is definitely utilized at the production site where dimensional precision is needed to be checked.
Scale interval (1 scale mark) depends on usage and they are 5 kinds such as 0.001 mm 0.005 mm 0.01 mm 0.05 mm 0.1 mm. Its stroke is available from 0.16 mm (the shortest) up to 150 mm. Dial gauge is normally not independent but its stem or back part is fixed to a jig and holds “work” with measuring table and gauge head, and displacement is read by short and long hand. There are direct measurement to measure in actual dimension and comparative measurement to measure displacement volume from standard dimension.
Measurement example
The photo shows that height of throw way chip of tool pre-setter is being measured. Chip height of 3 points is measured in um and adjusted.


Standard Dial Gauges

Lever Test (Test Indicator)
Microscopic dimension displacement is measured with high sensitivity.
Lever test (lever type dial gauge)

This has various usages such as measuring dimension, parallel level and spin finishing of work and measuring revolution axis of machinery equipment and swing of lathe processed thing and parallelism of table face of machinery equipment. This has strong point being sensitive for microscopic dimension displacement compared with standard dial gauge. As gauge head is leg type with edge ball, narrow space can be measured, where its edge ( standard Ø2mm ultra hard ball ) can enter.
Ø0.6mm, Ø0.8mm, and Ø1.0mm are available for this gauge rather than standard type.
Measurement example
Work is moved and measured of which flat face level, parallelism and outer swing etc. are fixed and lever test is fixed by holder or chuck. The right photo shows that work is measured with it fixed to discharge processing machining center.
As to other measurement method, this can be used for wide valuation since measurement is possible by rotating lever test side.

PS Type Lever Test

Shock from the angle except from measuring direction can be avoided and body is protected by preventing shock mechanism (PS mechanism) of center of gauge head.

Thickness Gauge
This can be used for various usages from paper to metal work.
Thickness gauge

Dial gauge is used by fitted to jig etc., while thickness gauge is held with our hand and work is held between gauge head and anvil, and its figure is directly read.
Gauge head moves to up when up-down lever is pressed down, and gauge head returns to “ zero” when it is released. As operation is easy, it is measured for a short period compared with micro-meter. There are 2 kinds of scale mark ,0.01 mm, 0.001 mm for both of analogue and digital. Stroke is available up to 50m as maximum thickness which depend on size of work. This can be used for various usages such as paper, rubber, plate, steel pipe, small molded products.
Measurement example
Steel work thickness is being measured, the photo shows 5.98 mm.

Dial Thickness Gauge

  • Dial thickness gauge can measure thickness of things such as steel, lens, rubber, plastic, paper, felt, hair in actual dimension.
  • Gauge head and anvil are superior for anti-abrasion and stained as they are made of ceramic.
  • Shape of gauge head and anvil are standard type and 3 types of LS, LW, 3A are available. Standard measuring ability is less than terminal pressure 2.5N, but SM-112-80g/SM-528-80g) of terminal pressure around 0.8N (Approx 80gf) is also available.




Depth Gauge
Corresponding to usage of shape of gauge head and base size.
Depth gauge

This is a specialized instrument which measures steps and depth of work by hand.
Setting “0” by sticking bottom face of base to measuring datum ( zero point) and rotating outer frame. ( Outer frame is fixed by clump at that time )
Then, it reads with short and long hands how gauge head juts out from that position.
There are 2 types of analogue and digital and they correspond to usage of shape of gauge head and basic size. There are such standard models like 10mm, 20m, 30mm, and it can comparatively measure depth of 220mm to 240mm by connecting leg.

Measurement example
The photo shows measuring depth of work of which center is hollowed. Parts and products can be measured with stuck to the bottom of base which can not be held by hand. The photo indicates 2.03mm.

Measuring range : 10 mm

Dial depth gauge can be used to measure depth and steps of work and thickness of paint membrane.




Caliper Gauge
Full line up for inner/outer diameter which are difficult to measure.

As to inner caliper gauge IM-880 series, the distance between gauge head facing out side is firstly set at standard dimension with ring gauge or micro-meter. Then, it is measured by inserting gauge head part into inner part to be measured after its scale mark of which moves together with rotated outer frame, is set at “zero”.
The displacement of indicator from “0” point of scale mark is to be measured at that time. The figure adding the read displacement to or deducting it from standard dimension is the dimension of inner diameter. This series attaches alternative gauge head which can set accurate dimension corresponding to size of inner dimension.
Outer caliper gauge is opposite, namely reading the figure by holding work with 2 gauge heads facing inside.
Measurement example
The photo shows inner diameter of small metal parts and swings from set standard dimension by 0.24mm.

Inner Dial Caliper Gauge

This is useful to measure deep inner diameter.
  • This is inner caliper gauge to measure inner diameter of cylinder type work and inner ditch diameter. It can measure ditch diameter of “0” ring by modifying gauge head.
  • Set dimension within ±1mm ( indication range 2mm) can be comparatively measured (880 series) by alternatively using auxiliary alternative gauge head in accordance with measured dimension.
  • Please set standard dimension within measuring range with micro-meter or ring gauge.

Bore Gauge(Micro-holetest)

Bore gauge

Cylinder gauge is the comparative measuring instrument which measures inner diameter of a hole by comparing with master gauge (micro-meter, ring gauge etc.)
Center of gauge head and kan rod are guided to diameter part of a hole by guide plate, and displacement of gauge head is transferred to dial gauge by right angle change in the ratio of 1:1 with cam mechanism.
Measurement accuracy is changed according to scale interval ( resolution ) of used dial gauge. Measurable line up are available from Ø6mm toØ450mm according to size of diameter.
High accuracy in spite of small inner diameter.
Micro-hole test

This is measuring instrument specially for small hole which measures inner diameter from minimum Ø1.7mm to maxØ10mm.
When edge of gauge head is inserted to small hole, edge is closed to inside and presses inner push-rod upward. The principle is that movement is transferred to tugiasi and instructs to scale mark of dial gauge.
Swing width of scale mark is read as well as cylinder gauge. It is the characteristic that repeating precision level indicating performance is high as 2 µm.

Standard Type Bore Gauge

  • Ultra hard alloy ball is applied to an edge of gauge head, which is superior to anti-abrasion.
  • High instruction stability is realized by unified guide plate of original shape.

Durometer (rubber / plastic hardness measurement)

·When the base of durometer and work are cohered each other, added pressure caused by spring inside durometer indentation changes shape of work and work makes power against this power.
·Pressed volume of pressed indentation are indicated as stiffness when this added pressure and opposition power are in equivalent.
·The reason why there are various kinds of durometer, it is for the purpose of measuring spongy thing like sponge and hard thing like plastic by combining spring power of strong and weak and shape of pressed indentation (sharp pointed or round).

Test Method of stiffness of vulcanization rubber and heat plasticity in accordance with JIS K 6253

This is durometer which was developed to comply with JIS K 6253 (new JIS) ruled in 1993 to confirm ISO ( International Organization of Standard ). It consists of 3 types of durometer such as Type A for medium stiffness, Type D for high hardness and Type D for low hardness.
Type A which is main type tends to indicate higher figure by 1 or 2 points compared with conventional A hardness measurement. Type D is suitable for hard rubber of which measured figure by Type A 90 and above and Type E is suitable for soft rubber of which measured figure is below 20.
